Skills & Training

This program is designed to respond to the maddening levels of unemployment that cut across people of productive ages, who find themselves in a skills mismatch in relations to the market skills demands.

In response to the demand for new skills for the 4th industrial revolution, and the technical skills gap, we run a number of programs that aim at bridging this yawning gap. Such initiatives include;

  • Fashion, Design and Garment Making – Kahawa Wendani; Nairobi
  • Urban Farming – Kibera, Kangemi and Westlands; Nairobi
  • Beading and Embroidery – Kahawa Sukari, Kariokor; Narobi
  • Beauty, Cosmetics and Styling – Migori, Kasarani, Kisumu
  • Interior and Creative Designs – Nairobi, Kiambu,Mombasa

Youth

The foundation is passionate about the youth and their empowerment. We do this to engage the youth to avoid deviant behaviours like drug abuse, teen pregnancies, illicit sexual relations, and skills impartations to escape extreme poverty levels at home.

Through these programs, we offer and carry out mentorships, counseling services, sexual and reproductive health education, sporting events, book donations and soft skills training. Ongoing initiatives in this category include:

  • Lawy Pad Drive – Machakos, Nakuru, Kilifi, Kwale and West Pokot Counties
  • Comprehensive Adolescent, Reproductive and Sexuality Education – Nakuru, Busia, Isiolo, Meru and Kitui Counties
  • Lawy Football Tournament – Migori County (Done during school holidays)
  • Profession Based Contact Mentorship – Migori, Homabay, Kisii, Nyamira, Vihiga, Turkana and Embu Counties
  • Art Promotion – Kahawa Wendani (we provide space for artworks and a shop to sell their works)
  • Photography and Videography Training and Studio Works – Kiambu, Kajiado Counties.
  • Book Donation and E-Libraries –  Kiambu, Nairobi, Migori, Kisii and Kitui
  • Tree Planting: Kajiado, Nairobi, Migori

Health

An unhealthy person is definitely not a happy person. Some of the health challenges that face people living in absolute poverty can be easily managed through innovative solutions that respond to their conditions. Our initiatives here include;

  • Mental Health – Virtually and in person in Kenya, South Africa, Ghana , Cameroon
    and Rwanda
  • Jigger Eradications – Soy, Luanda, Yala and Vihiga (Vihiga, Siaya and Trans Nzoia Counties)
  • School and home sanitation programmes – Taita Taveta, Isiolo, Marsabit, Nakuru and Kericho counties
  • Non-communicable Diseases management – Nairobi, Mombasa, Meru, Embu, Nakuru and Eldoret.

Communities

United and cohesive societies provide a conducive environment to discover, develop, and experience meaningful and cultural practices.

Our work involves bringing people and communities together through sport, festivals, entertainment events, and common cause projects.

This way, social relations are built, which form a good foundation for advancing common interests, collaboration, and synergy in community development. Our work here involves;

  • Christmas Carols Night – Annually at Kenyatta University, Strathmore University, Tigoni.
  • Social Justice Town Hall Meetings – Selected areas where police, judiciary, civil servants etc respond to people’s concerns.
  • Youth Music, Dance and Meet Festival – Kajiado, Kisumu, Mombasa.
